The Fourth!

We had a lovely Fourth of July weekend! Our friends, Carla and Katie, came down for the weekend and we played games, went thrift store shopping, and laughed a lot!

On the morning of the Fourth, we took Hank to the annual Marion Parade. Everyone who owns a truck and lives in the town of Marion seems to participate. They throw candy, so all is well. Every firetruck from the town is also in the parade, so I always hope no one has arson on the mind each year! Hank loved it and clapped along!

Hank also discovered the joys of running AROUND the den, and he spent all of last night doing this. It might have been more sneaky of him if he didn't giggle and shriek as he approached each door.

Hank is learning a lot of new words! He says: ball, milk, cracker, dog, please, mom, mama, more, yum and banana, as well as a few others.

He has started saying "Me?" anytime he wants something. It reminds us of the seagulls in Finding Nemo. As you can see, Hank is very pensive.

He also likes to pick his nose so we can tell him to stop.

He knows his body parts, and loves to say "eye" has he grabs his eyes. He knows hair, ears, nose and mouth.

He loves to dance, sing and play! He made us laugh all weekend long! He sings us lovely song with the most sincere expressions. Lucky for us, he has also figured out how to turn his light on and off. Ugh!

We love his cheesy grin!

  1. haha i always wonder why, like, EVERY SINGLE firetruck shows up at the parade, and especially why they always have to turn the alarms on, even though it's not entirely necessary. wonder what would happen if there actually WAS a fire. ;)
